website?
breaks and timeoff....
Just noticed that my all time high score for the Twisten Tailfin track on Medium has been beaten. Grinding away trying to get that back, But I think that 2'05" will be pretty hard to beat. Beats my previous best by almost 2 seconds. I hate running the track on the medium speed.
Okay [rant] I will that they would fix the high scores on the Carburator County track. It seems that they fixed the error, or atleast they made it so the scores are not captured when the error happens, but those scores are from that error occuring. [/rant]
Hmmm, I do not think that I have explained that error yet. There are two ways that it happens, one is the time is not started when the race begins, and the other way is the race starts at lap 4/3 and for most of the laps the timer does not run.

Boost Locations for CCS
Sorry for the crappy pic. Might have to work on that at some point.
Just a note on starting a race...

Car Coins
Right now you can't do anything with them, other than collect them (and Man, I have quite a collection!!!). You are awarded coins based on how you finish in a race. You get more for finishing first, and you get more for finishing on a harder level.
Training track - You get nothing but experience
Carburator County Speedway and Twisten Tailfin Track
Easy
no matter how you finish - 1 coin
Medium
First - 2 coins
Second - 1 coin
Third - 1 coin
Last - 1 coin
Hard
First - 4 coins
Second -3 coins
Third - 2 coins
Last - 1 coin
You also seem to get a bonus for having atleast the alltime fast time for the track and that level- 5 coins. I saw it for the first time today on TTT where I got 9 coins. Later while playing on Easy (I can't stand the easy level) I got 6 for the race that gave me the fast time for the track. A nice little bonus.
When the game first opened there was a catalog where you can spend the coins to upgrade/style your car. I assume that they will bring this back once they go live. Unsure if any of the upgrades would actually change the handling/speed of the car.
Carburetor County Speedway
All of the races are three laps, and there are three different difficulty levels that you can go around the track on, Easy, Medium and Hard.
On easy you race at about 100 mph, Medium is 110, and hard is 120. The AI cars go around faster with the increase in difficultly. Not sure if they get to be better drivers or not!
Now the best part is using the boosts and oilcans, which you did not get on the practice track.
The Boost allow you a burst of speed for a short time. You can collect up to three of these as you go around the track, I always try to start a race with three already.
These are the key to getting a faster time on the track.
The Oil Can creates an oilslick for you opponants to slip on and loose time. You also need to be careful of these as you go around the track. I do not use these alot, perhaps when it is more than just computer controlled cars they will be more useful.
This is what an oilslick looks like on the track, avoid them!
The two sharper corners are the hardest parts of this track. You may have to slow down slightly in order to stay on the track. There are other options of course, but I won't talk about those yet. The other left-right-left corners you should not have to slow down for, but just go all out through them. If you have boosts, try to use them on the on the straights, and then pick up more!
Good times for the different levels appear to be:
Easy: under 1'30"
Medium: Under 1'20"
Hard: Under 1:15"
For the most part just finish infront of the AI cars to get the most car coins.
